Community Empowerment Through Sports

In an atmosphere filled with warmth and solidarity, the Kayifi Foundation representatives successfully distributed sports equipment on Thursday, May 1, 2025.

The initiative provided complete soccer kits, jerseys, bibs, soccer balls, cones, and other gear to over 10 soccer teams from across Northern Haiti, including communities such as Balan, Camps-Louise, Dutty, Bois-Rouge, Carrefour des Pères, Milot, Bordes, Robillard, and others.

Despite being only two years old, the Kayifi Foundation has already extended its reach to the Caribbean Islands. Its mission is to support today’s leaders in becoming tomorrow’s agents of change.

A Commitment to Community Transformation

The foundation focuses on profoundly transforming communities through sustainable economic development, promoting sports as a tool for unity, education, and empowerment, and offering scholarships to expand access to quality education.

This second large-scale distribution benefited over ten local soccer teams, further illustrating the foundation’s steadfast commitment to community engagement and youth development through sport.

During the event, Mr. Jose Monestime, representative of the Championnat La Paix in Robillard, was awarded the trophy for the tournament’s 16th edition, a meaningful act in recognizing the tournament’s significance and longevity in the region.

Nurturing Future Leaders

Among Kayifi Foundation’s standout initiatives is the Kayifi Football Academy, an institution dedicated to nurturing young talent while emphasizing academic growth, discipline, and social responsibility.

Under the guidance of promising young coaches Rooderson Bertin A. Regis and Sendly Philistin, the academy is shaping athletes and cultivating engaged citizens who understand their role in community transformation.

In a time of economic hardship and limited resources, the foundation’s efforts were met with solid gratitude from team representatives, who described the initiative as a vital source of hope amid challenging circumstances.

The Power of Sport in Action

The unwavering commitment of Mr. Westenior and Mr. Jean Erody Valmera through Kayifi Foundation reflects a progressive vision of sport, not merely as recreation, but as a powerful instrument for social change and sustainable community development throughout Northern Haiti.
